Street Photography

Mary Ellen Mark was an American photographer known for her photojournalism and portrait photography. Her attention was drawn to people “away from mainstream society.” She once said, “Photograph the world as it is. Nothing’s more interesting than reality.”

Street photography captures the raw, unfiltered essence of daily life, offering glimpses into the human condition in its most authentic form. It's about finding beauty in the mundane, telling stories through fleeting moments, and transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary images. As French artist and humanist photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, “To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event.” This portfolio is a reflection of that belief—an attempt to pause time for just a moment and allow the viewer to engage with a world that is constantly in motion.

In this collection, I’ve aimed to capture life as it unfolds in public spaces. I draw inspiration from photographers like American street photographer Garry Winogrand, who believed that “Photography is not about the thing photographed. It is about how that thing looks photographed.” Each photograph tells its own story, inviting you to see familiar scenes with fresh eyes, and unfamiliar scenes anew, each filled with emotion, spontaneity, and the unexpected.
